Project: Sand Dressed Hockey Pitch, Tennis Courts and Car Park
A two-phase, Design and Build Project to provide new sports facilities. Phase 1 was to extend and completely reconstruct the old Redgra hockey pitch, providing a Sand Dressed artificial surface to meet the FIH National Standard. The pitch is marked out for hockey, tennis and athletics, with the added benefit of a long jump pit adjacent, enabling athletics practice throughout the year.
Stabilisation works were carried out to the pitch base as the ground conditions were very heavy clay. A reinforced, insitu-concrete retaining wall was designed and built along one end of the pitch to separate the storm attenuation pond.
A Car Park was constructed as part of a new traffic management scheme and connecting pathways installed to link the sports facilities.
