We are pleased to announce that Smith Construction has been selected by Sport England to support their framework for the design and construction of artificial outdoor sports surfaces. The requirements include visiting and surveying sites for condition and suitability, preparing feasibility reports including outline design proposals, consulting with local planning and building control departments, preparation and submission of necessary planning and building control applications and developing detailed design solution as well as the construction process itself. The framework will provide clients with an informed ‘one stop shop’ for their project.
This 4 year framework agreement is a part of a new strategy by Sport England to facilitate the delivery of new and upgraded sport facilities across England initially in support of the £50m inspired themed round of the places people programme but also subsequent funding programs.
The framework agreement is also available for use directly by other public sector bodies and national governing bodies of sport, in England with the aim that community level projects are provided in line with Sport England’s best practice documentation and design guidance notes.

The agreement is in support of the Rugby Football Union (RFU), Football Association (FA) and Football Foundation (FF) capital investment programme.
Smith Construction (Heckington) Ltd, and FIFA preferred producer; Limonta Sport, have combined their skills and expertise to form a joint venture company, Limonta Smith JV, for The FA and RFU National Framework Projects.
The company has been selected by The FA, RFU and Football Foundation, to provide specialist design, build and maintenance services for 3G artificial pitches within the national framework. The four-year framework aims to improve vastly the quality of artificial pitches constructed throughout the UK.The Sport and Play Construction Association (SAPCA) is the recognised trade association for the sports and play surfaces construction industry in the United Kingdom. The association’s role is to establish and regulate best practice for surface construction, set and maintain an across-industry framework of standards, promote and contribute to research and development of technology for improving and transforming sports facilities, and to represent the industry as a whole.
Smith Construction (Heckington) Ltd are principal contractor members of the association in the football, rugby, and hockey pitch construction division, athletics track construction division, multi-sports and MUGA construction division, tennis court division and, and natural sports turf division.

Smith Construction is pleased to confirm the award for a further two years of the framework agreement to undertake general building and civils works and environmental improvements for North Kesteven District Council. This latest contract extends a well-established working relationship developed with the Council over many years of mutually successful projects, large and small.
It was won through competitive tendering under another existing framework agreement with Procurement Lincolnshire, an agreement which has also been extended recently. That also allows for works to be undertaken within the Council areas of South Holland, South Kesteven and the City of Lincoln.
