Smith Construction (Heckington) Ltd, a leading specialist design and engineering company, recognised nationally in the sports surfacing construction industry, is delighted with the start to 2014 and proud to announce the expansion of their workforce. Two experienced men from the industry join the Smith Construction team this month.
Sean Colbert joins Smith Construction as the General Manager of their maintenance division. Sean has a vast amount of knowledge, having worked in the synthetic sports industry since 1998. He has spent time working within the contract and manufacturing areas of the industry. However the maintenance elements is where Sean’s main experience lies. He will draw upon his experience gained throughout his employment to help build upon an already successful and profitable maintenance division. He says ‘I have been fortunate to have been at the forefront of the synthetic turf maintenance industry since the early 1990’s. I am experienced in all types of artificial surfaces and all kinds of maintenance procedures. Smith Construction is regarded as leaders in the field of sports contracting, and the opportunity to help build and grow the maintenance division of the company is a very exciting and challenging opportunity.’
Joe Shaw joins Smith Construction as the Polymeric and Landscape Manager to help grow both the polymeric and landscape division. Joe brings a large amount of knowledge to the company, having worked in the Sports Construction and Surfacing industry for more than eight years. Upon graduating from Loughborough University in 2010, Joe undertook a full-time role at Polytan Sports Surfaces UK, working first as a Surface Technician then as their Warehouse and Logistics Manager and finally finishing his employment as their Contracts Coordinator. Joe brings his knowledge and experience of synthetic sports surfacing from both an installation and contractual standpoint to his new role.
Smith Construction has had an excellent start to the year and are excited with what the future holds with the new editions to the expanding workforce.
