Following several months of planning and tendering, work has now begun on a second all-weather astro turf pitch, hospitality pavilion, spectator viewing gallery and warm-up area at Reigate Grammar School.
The development at Hartswood Sports Ground is part of Reigate Grammar School’s increased on-going investment in sports facilities and coaching. The school hopes the new pitch will provide a whole host of benefits, such as giving students greater access to all weather surface training, improving coaching, raising the sports experience and performance of RGS pupils by giving an extra all weather facility for all RGS sports, increased availability for matches again other schools and many more benefits to the school.
The £700,000 project includes a full size hockey pitch with associated works – drainage, ground stabilisation, fencing, floodlighting, landscaping, car park and access paths. Concrete up-stands designed and installed to deal with raised areas and level issues, between existing and new spectator stand. The project is well underway, and is due for completion in time for the new school year, in September.
