Following a competitive tendering process, Smith Construction are delighted to have been awarded the contract by Paul Hawkins Development to construct a brand new all-weather pitch at Handcross Park School.
Handcross Park School is a Preparatory School situated within 50 acres of spectacular Sussex parkland. Generous donations from the local community and pupil’s families have allowed for this fantastic, new pitch to be built. The construction of a pitch will enhance Handcross Park School’s already extensive selection of outdoor sports facilities. These include large playing fields, an athletics track, a 6-hole golf course, tennis courts and a range of play equipment including a zip wire.
Smith Construction began stripping the top soil and removing trees from site last week, to make way for the new all-weather pitch. Smith Construction will once again be using the pioneering method of lime and cement stabilisation to create a solid base for the new pitch to be constructed. Smith Construction will be surfacing the pitch with Tiger Turf Evo Pro, a fast paced sand dressed surface, allowing full length and small sided hockey. The pitch will also be able to accommodate tennis, as the surface will be line marked for six tennis courts. Complete with fencing and floodlighting, the all-weather pitch will provide the school with a perfect games area all year round. The pitch is due to be completed in September, ready for the pupils return.
