Another pitch for the University of Nottingham

Another pitch for the University of Nottingham Published 8 October 2015

Last month, Smith Construction began work on a £900,000 project at Nottingham Hockey Centre, in the picturesque grounds of Highfields Park, for the University of Nottingham, to construct a full sized artificial water based hockey pitch.

The centre already has three different pitches all different in construction;

Pitch one is a nylon water based pitch dedicated to hockey use and is built to International Hockey Federation (FIH) Standards.

Pitch two is an FIH standard sand dressed pitch dedicated to hockey use.

Pitch three is a half sized sand dressed pitch used for a variety of sports including hockey, football and lacrosse.

The new pitch will be their second water based pitch. This is the second project that Smith Construction has worked on for the University of Nottingham, only a few weeks ago a full sized 3G pitch was completed at their Jubliee Campus.

The project is in its early stages and due for completion towards the end of November.
