Smith Construction are preparing to launch an innovative pitch base construction called Smith SBS and a new reinforced natural turf concept; Mixto, a hybrid natural sports turf suitable for rugby and football. They will also showcase their environmentally friendly, all natural, Geo Plus infill for 3G pitches at this year’s Bursars Conference.
The conference takes place next week; Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th May at the Manchester Central Convention and attracts 400 bursars and senior management staff from independent schools around the UK.
The Smith SBS base system has been developed to offer a cost effective alternative to an engineered base construction. The system has been trialled and tested over a number of years successfully.
The hybrid grass, Mixto is the latest technology in natural sports turf. It brings together the best qualities of natural and artificial turf, providing up to 3 times more play time without damage than a traditional natural surface.
Geo Plus is a new natural infill for long-pile 3G surfaces. It is a fully sustainable alternative to rubber granules, giving a high level of player performance in all weather conditions.
Smith Construction’s experienced and knowledgeable staff will welcome delegates to the stand to discuss their future sports development plans. The team will be on hand to provide information regarding their services and to discuss the new systems.
Ken Smith said, ‘We are delighted to have been chosen to exhibit at this year’s conference and thrilled to be launching these new products. We have a wealth of experience and knowledge in the independent school sports sector. We are looking forward to a great exhibition in Manchester.'
