Smith Sports & Civils Welcome 2010

We would like to say a big “Happy New Year” to everyone.

Throughout 2009 Smith Construction continued to work for its valued customers on some of the most important and interesting projects done so far. Including; the design and construction of two water based hockey pitches and new changing facilities for Sport England at the National Sports Centre, Lilleshall. Our British Olympic Hockey Team will be playing on these pitches. Another very significant project was designed and constructed at Walton on Thames for Elmbridge Borough Council, with the aid of one of the largest Football Foundation grants of the year of £946,000. The development includes a state of the art synthetic turf football pitch, a training pitch, a new changing pavilion, cycle track and car park. All this, constructed by the river, on a site previously used as a dump for thirty years!

During 2010, we plan to continue to improve the service we provide for our customers and look forward to new challenges, aiming to offer advantageous building solutions for all natural and synthetic sports surfaces. We are also planning to expand on our popular sports surface maintenance division with more service options, even more specialist machinery and some extremely good deals!
